Ola Electric has made waves in the Indian electric vehicle market with the launch of its new Roadster electric motorcycle range. Starting at an attractive price of ₹ 74,999, this new lineup offers three distinct variants: the Roadster, Roadster X, and Roadster Pro. Ola Roadster Electric Motorcycle: A Closer Look at the Variants

1. Roadster X

The Roadster X is designed for those who seek a balance between performance and efficiency. It is powered by a motor with a peak output of 11 kW, making it a solid performer in the electric motorcycle segment. One of the key features of the Roadster X is its flexibility in battery options. Buyers can choose from three different battery capacities: 2.5 kWh, 3.5 kWh, and 4.5 kWh. This allows users to select a battery that best suits their needs, whether it’s for shorter city rides or longer commutes.

Performance-wise, the Roadster X is no slouch. With the 4.5 kWh battery, it can accelerate from 0 to 40 kmph in just 2.8 seconds, which is quite impressive for a bike in this price range. The top speed of the Roadster X is 124 kmph, and it offers a maximum range of up to 200 km on a full charge with the largest battery. These figures make it a practical choice for those who need a reliable vehicle for both city and highway rides.

In terms of features, the Roadster X is equipped with a 4.3-inch LCD display powered by MoveOS 5, Ola’s latest operating system for their electric vehicles. This display provides a wealth of information and digital features, including turn-by-turn navigation, advanced regenerative braking, cruise control, and riding modes (Sports, Normal, and Eco). Additionally, the bike comes with a Combi Braking System (CBS) that includes disc brakes at the front, enhanced with advanced brake-by-wire technology for improved safety.

2. Roadster

For those looking for more power and enhanced features, the Roadster variant is an excellent choice. It comes with a more powerful 13 kW motor and offers three battery options: 3.5 kWh, 4.5 kWh, and 6 kWh. This variant is designed for riders who want a bit more thrill in their daily commute. With the 6 kWh battery, the Roadster can accelerate from 0 to 40 kmph in just 2 seconds, making it one of the fastest electric motorcycles in its segment.

The Roadster has a top speed of 126 kmph and offers a maximum range of up to 248 km, depending on the battery option chosen. This makes it suitable for longer rides, providing both power and range for those who like to travel farther distances without frequent charging.

Safety is also a priority with the Roadster, as it comes with disc brakes at both the front and rear, supported by advanced single-channel ABS. This system includes sophisticated cornering ABS and brake-by-wire technology, providing enhanced control and safety during rides.

3. Roadster Pro

The Roadster Pro is the flagship model in the Roadster lineup, and it’s designed for those who demand the best in performance and technology. It is powered by a massive 52 kW motor, delivering 105 Nm of torque, which translates into incredible acceleration and speed. The Roadster Pro can go from 0 to 40 kmph in just 1.2 seconds and 0 to 60 kmph in 1.9 seconds, making it one of the fastest electric motorcycles on the market.

The Roadster Pro comes with a 16 kWh battery, which is the largest in the lineup, offering an IDC-certified range of up to 579 km on a single charge. This makes it not only the fastest but also the most efficient motorcycle in its class, perfect for long-distance rides without the worry of running out of power.

Ola’s Vision for the Future of Electric Motorcycles

During the launch event, Bhavish Aggarwal, Founder and CMD of Ola Electric, emphasized the company’s commitment to accelerating electric vehicle (EV) adoption in India. He highlighted that currently, two-thirds of India’s two-wheeler market consists of motorcycles. With Ola’s entry into this segment, the company aims to further boost EV penetration, similar to what they achieved with electric scooters.

Ola Electric has also announced that starting from the first quarter of FY26, they will begin integrating their own cells into their vehicles, which is expected to enhance the performance and efficiency of their products. Additionally, the company showcased the indigenously developed Bharat 4680 cell and battery pack, along with the new Gen-3 platform and MoveOS 5.

Looking ahead, Ola Electric has also teased two upcoming electric motorcycles, the Sportster and Arrowhead, indicating that the company is gearing up to offer even more choices to consumers in the near future.

With this ambitious lineup, Ola Electric is not just introducing new motorcycles but also setting the stage for a significant shift towards electric mobility in India’s two-wheeler market. Their focus on innovation, performance, and advanced technology is likely to play a crucial role in driving the mass adoption of electric vehicles across the country.
