The company introduced JioTV OS, a 100% homegrown software solution designed to power Jio set-top boxes. This new operating system is crafted specifically for big TV screens, promising a faster, smoother, and more personalized user experience.
A Cinema-Like Experience at Home
JioTV OS supports video streaming with resolutions up to 4K, ensuring viewers enjoy crisp, clear visuals. Additionally, it supports advanced technologies like Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, bringing cinema-quality picture and sound right into your living room. This means users can expect vibrant colors, sharp contrasts, and immersive audio, all from the comfort of their home.
Seamless Integration of Entertainment
One of the standout features of JioTV OS is its ability to integrate all major OTT platforms, live television streaming, and TV shows into a single service. This eliminates the need to switch between different apps, providing a seamless viewing experience.
The OS also features “Hello Jio,” a voice assistant that has been part of the Jio ecosystem for some time. Now, integrated into JioTV OS, Hello Jio has been enhanced with generative AI, offering improved natural language understanding. This allows users to discover content and control their set-top boxes using voice commands, making interactions feel more human-like and intuitive.
Expanding the Jio Ecosystem with Jio AppStore
JioTV OS comes with its own Jio AppStore, tailored specifically for the JioHome ecosystem. The AppStore includes a variety of apps, from shopping with augmented reality experiences to fitness and education-related apps. Moreover, the OS allows users to control smart home accessories such as air conditioners, smart lights, and security cameras. These devices can also be managed through the updated JioHome app, making it easier than ever to create a connected and intelligent home environment.
Enhancements to JioTV+
In addition to the launch of JioTV OS, Reliance announced updates to JioTV+, which provides access to over 800 TV channels, including HD options, and supports popular OTT platforms like Prime Video and Disney+ Hotstar. JioTV+ integrates content from various OTT apps and live TV channels into a single service with a unified login, streamlining the user experience.
A new feature in JioTV+ will soon allow users to pause live TV and resume it at their convenience, adding flexibility to how they watch television. The JioTV+ app has recently been made available across all major smart TV platforms, further expanding its reach.
